Meat and more meat at Çankaya Lokantası

Ankara, my hometown makes me wonder around the tastes I am familiar with. One being döner, I can easily say that I had the best döner sandwiches topped with onions and parsley through my school years. Have to mention the onion, because döner is best enjoyed with onions…

Being their customer for almost 20 years, Çankaya Lokantası has never changed the true taste there is.  The place is open only for lunch, or better to say they close when there is nothing left to serve, around 2-3pm. Other than their famous döner they serve delicious esnaf lokantası dishes. Most important dish for me is döner, pilav üstü döner, rice pilaf topped with döner, the meat and the fat melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned, perfectly honest!

If you are around Ankara, be sure to stop by, eat whatever you can put your hands on, be mesmerized by the fast and attentive service… Turkey needs more of these proper establishments…
