When I crave a conversation, a friendly face, a slick joke I hop on a ferry to Kadıköy Food Market. There is -still- nowhere like it for me in Istanbul. Kıvırcık shouting after me, Ayvaz holding the spice packs as his greatest loves, that cumin he sells, casting a long glance at those sheep heads, Aykut holding the fort of his offal shop.

The Kadıköy Fish Market is one of the best reserved places for food lovers in Istanbul, again, still. Even though the shops changed hands due to the rent issues, the situation worked against the old shop owners, it is still rocking!
As I always say, food tour is the best way to start any journey, come take a food tour with us to the Kadıköy Food Market, maybe the only market in the world which holds a statue of a goose, may you rest in peace Rodi! Now about that food tour; more tours are on the Istanbul Food Tour page, and below the Kadıköy Food Tour.
