Do you ever get frustrated just after you’ve posted something on Instagram, and then followers start writing their bad experiences to you via direct messages? I sometimes get this when I write about a restaurant. And the only response I know is; did you share your experience with the restaurant? And the answer is NO! Always no. So why do you write it to me?

“Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a man does with what happens to him.” Once said Aldous Huxley.

Some people live on badmouthing, especially on social media. And since you shared something good, it bothers them; did you have a better experience than them, did the proprietor pay more attention to you, did I give it away for free, can’t I tell the good from bad, etc., etc…. Well, maybe only on SM, since they can not face you and talk their problems.

We eat minimum one course of our meals outside daily. Sometimes we go to the same places, become return customers, and get to eat at the same restaurant everyday. Humans, being creatures capable of feeding themselves, also cook at home. So does this mean, they always have the perfect food at home? Well… Is there anything like perfect in life? There are days, ingredients, the morale of people cooking it, the timing, the season, the knowhow. When dining out we tend to expect all of these to be in right order on the same time, and we are right. Might be. And believe me the chefs, owners do their absolute best to meet your demands, needs. But sometimes it falls short. The food, the end product of this show, the one thing you judge a place, that one moment, is not good. You take out all the war gear and prepare for battle. So called shaming on instagram etc…

I sometimes wish you have the decency and courage to talk to the chef or the owner…
